Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal data PIXEL DUNE SOFTWARE DESIGN handles, why, who else sees it, and how to have it deleted. It covers this website, our public demos, and the WhatsApp consultant we run for business clients.
Who we are
PIXEL DUNE SOFTWARE DESIGN (“Pixel Dune”, “we”) is a software company in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, licensed by the Abu Dhabi Registration Authority, Department of Economic Development, under trade licence CN-6760992. You can reach us about anything in this policy at pixeldunesoftware@gmail.com or +971 55 730 0525.
We handle personal data in line with the UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (PDPL).
This website
This website has no forms, no analytics, no advertising and no cookies. We do not track you from page to page.
The site is hosted by Vercel Inc. Like any web server, Vercel receives technical details of each request, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver the page and protect it from abuse. We do not use these details to identify you.
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply and to keep a record of our correspondence. Our mailbox is hosted by Google.
Our demos
The demos linked from this site use invented companies and sample data. Please don’t enter real personal data into them.
- WhatsApp consultant demo. What you type is sent to OpenAI to generate the reply and to prepare the sample enquiry card. We do not save the conversation; it disappears when you close the page. Your IP address is held briefly in memory to limit how many requests one visitor can make, and is not stored.
- Radar demo. Shows sample data only. Nothing you do in it is sent to us.
- Quote to Invoice demo. Anything you enter is saved in your own browser’s local storage and never sent to us. Clearing the site data in your browser removes it.
The WhatsApp consultant for business clients
When a business uses our WhatsApp consultant, it answers messages that customers send to that business’s WhatsApp number. In this case the business decides how customer data is used and is responsible for it (the controller). We process the data only on the business’s behalf and on its instructions, under our agreement with it (we are the processor).
What we process
- The customer’s WhatsApp phone number and profile name.
- The messages in the conversation, from the customer, from the consultant and from the business’s own staff, including voice notes and images if the business turns those on.
- Earlier messages from that number, if the business chooses to share its WhatsApp chat history when connecting its number. WhatsApp limits this to the last six months of one-to-one chats.
- Details the customer gives about their request, such as a name, preferred time or the service they need.
What we use it for
- Replying to the customer on the business’s behalf.
- Remembering the conversation, so the customer doesn’t have to repeat themselves.
- Passing enquiries to the business and notifying it through the channel it chooses, for example Telegram or WhatsApp.
- Showing the conversations and enquiries to the business in its password-protected dashboard.
We do not use this data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to train AI models.
Who else processes it
- Meta Platforms, through the WhatsApp Business Platform, which carries the messages between the customer and the business.
- OpenAI, which generates the consultant’s replies and, if enabled, transcribes voice notes. Under OpenAI’s API terms, this data is not used to train its models and is kept for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, then deleted.
- Vercel and our database provider, which host the service and store the conversations.
Some of these providers process data outside the UAE, including in the United States. We use providers that commit to protecting the data under their business terms.
How long we keep it
For as long as the business uses the service. When the agreement ends, or earlier if the business asks, we delete the conversations and enquiries within 30 days.
How to have your data deleted
If you messaged a business that uses our consultant and want your data deleted, you can ask the business directly, or write to us at pixeldunesoftware@gmail.com with the subject “Data deletion request”. Please include the WhatsApp number you wrote from and the name of the business you messaged.
We will confirm that we received your request, tell the business, and delete your conversations and enquiry details within 30 days, unless the law requires us to keep something. We will tell you when it is done.
The same address works for anything else you have sent us, such as email correspondence.
Your rights
Under the PDPL you can ask to see the personal data held about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its processing, and receive a copy of it. Write to pixeldunesoftware@gmail.com. Where we act for a business, we will pass your request to that business and help it answer.
Security
Data travels over encrypted connections. Access to conversations is limited to the business that owns them and to us for running and supporting the service, and every dashboard is protected by a password.
Children
Our services are meant for businesses and their adult customers. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top. Business clients will hear about significant changes from us directly.
